Week 10!!!

Ok, winding down here. I did download a book, but I wasn't all that impressed with the process. First of all, I couldn't seem to find an easier way to search what was available. There seemed to just be one list, many pages long to laboriously sift through. No way to narrow the search by interest, author or whatever. I suppose unless you did a hit and miss search in the regular catalog, hoping perhaps there was a downloadable version of the works you are interested in, (sounds time consuming). Next challange was, once I did select one, which was '100 Greatest Poems: Read By the Original Authors' (or something to that effect), that while it was neat to hear them read their own works (we are talking OLD stuff from decades ago), there was no table of contents, or way to see what (in this case WHO) was included. For example, I wanted to browse WHAT authors were in there, since I had limited time to listen, and I was hoping to hear certain ones. They may have been in there, and you are able to fast forward, but no way to tell who, or where to forward to to hear that section. Hit and miss again. Maybe it would have been different with a different type of book? I had the most fun with the visualizations you can choose from to accompany the vocals. There was a very large selection of those, you can even play with the colors and such.
As for how I will use my MP3? Mostly for music I imagine and possibly for a book depending on the situation. I'd give that another try. I am just thrilled to be getting one!!!

Playing 'ketchup' (corny, but I couldn't resist)

Let's see, well,
week 8...
I haven't gotten to finish that assignment yet, as we took pictures for it (in our department), but someone elsewhere deleted them before we were able to upload them. We got the camera again, but I don't know where the pics are yet or how to do it. These group things don't work all that well for my personal situation. Since I work part time, it is difficult for me to find time to work on the 2.0 (I'm kind of slow, lol). For something like the picture assignment I will need some help, therefore some extra time along with someone who has the same available time to help me. I know there is willing help available, it's more a logistical problem. I'm sure during the last couple of weeks here of the program, I can complete this one. : )
Anyhow...
Week 9 I had better progress with. I thought Live Plasma was very cool! I would have liked the Music Map more than I did, but the screen is too small so that some of the outer lines overlap and run together making them unreadable, it was the same way for me at home. Maybe there is a way to remedy that? It is fun watching them all bounce around and settle though. Last FM was also a good one. I, again, haven't had time to seriously explore them yet, as much as I would like, but I do plan to when I can, just as with a few other sites we've covered along the way!
Oh, to comment on PropSmart (a couple weeks back), I did find us, as well as my home area etc. Interesting to see what houses are going for around me! Encouraging. That was pretty cool!

The New Addition

This is the newest member of the family.
My daughter's new puppy 'Audrey' @ 9 weeks !
I am just so impressed with myself, inserting this picture on here. There's no stopping me now......

Wow!

So cool, I did it! With my daughters help that is, but I did it! She's proud of me : )
I did want a cool maiden dress, but that cost coins so I went the free route, though the dress was PERFECT for my scene. Oh well, I'm excited anyway. I'm not sure I could do it again, lol, but once is good!

Still here...barely

Well, this has been quite the challenge, trying to keep up with this course. I have finally decided I need to do some of it from home because I really cannot find enough time at work. I DID manage to eek out enough time one day last week, or was that the week before (?) to read up, watch the pods etc..., look at sites and so on. I am furthest behind on making entries on here. So, let's see now, can I remember WHAT I did, lol. Hmm. Well, I did check out all the sites that were listed from week 4?, (ie. YouTube, Myspace, etc...) it did seem odd that we are on MySpace. I thought the video on YouTube, In the Frame (was it called?) was clever. I read and explored the following weeks sites as well, I even took a few notes since I KNEW I would not have time to post here, however, I don't know where those are at the moment, probably in my locker at work, where I am not right now. I did sign up with the first one listed, can't recall the name w/o my notes... about oraganizing your books and such, that looked sooo interesting. I know I went to each site listed briefly at least, oh yes, that one, Bluffr (?), that would be fun to while away the time with! I'm blanking on the other sites. But when I get my notes...and me...in the same place maybe I can comment further. Well, time to eat so I can get to work. Just call me "weeks late, $$$ short", I always like to exceed! lol.
